Forefitting
You don't have enough money in your wallet. You willl get money next week. You asked the shop to reserve it for you until next week. You get your salary next week, for example.
Let us say the shop ask to pay some money as an advance payment to buy the item.
1.You will forefit your advance payment if you decide not to buy it. [CORRECT.]
2.You are forefitting your advance payment if you don't buy it. [ Is this fine too?]
[ You got your salary; however, you went to the shop and told them that you didn't want to buy it.]
I am not sure whether it is fine to write the -ing form of the verb forefit.
I know the past tense of the verb forefit is fine.
You have forefited your payment. [FINE]

Note that the spelling is unusual: forfeit. Other than that, both 1 and 2 can be used. CJ
