The next day, Bheema drove to the demon's hill with a cartload of food stuffs. There, he unharnessed the buffaloes from the cart and set them free into the jungle. Then, he sat down to eat the food meant for Baksura (a demon). He feasted joyfully. The horrible Bakasura came out of his cave and found Bheema gobbling his food. It angered him and he thundered, "What stupid human is this who eats my food before my own eyes? Gone mad with death wish?
Could you tell me what "feasted" means here?
I know "feast", means "food served in a wedding reception or on a certain function". But I don't know what they mean here by "feasted" using as a verb.
Top answer
It simply means - He ate joyfully. feasted, used as a verb in this manner - gives the impression (feeling) of a party/joyous occasion - or "eating with great satisfaction". Cheers, Nick
