farther/further

Hello,

I walk 60 kms. He walks 30 kms. (make comaparative sentence using "far").

It means

1. I walk further than him.

2. I walk farther than him.

Which one is correct ?

The correct sentence would be '' I walk 30 kms farther than him''. Answer 2.

Makes sense. I like it how you pointed out 'accuracy' as the key here.
So it would be :
'He walked 30 kms. I walked 30 kms farther than him' because you're being precise as to how much more you walked.
'He stopped after 30 kms. I was able to walk further' if it doesn't matter how much longer you walked.

I think both can use for distance. Morover, further can mean " additional " for example, for further information, see page....
