Now that the waiting is over and the game is out, it can be stated for the record that Wolfenstein's single-player mode is good. It's...good. It's pretty good. But with the faint-praise damning out of the way, you'll be happy to hear that the multiplayer game is outstanding.
What does faint mean here? Shout out good things about the game until you faint?
Damning out of way means shout from the street, right?

May 18, 2005 - There are some games that transcend E3(Electronic Entertainment Expo) and seem to appear year after year without ever becoming available. Until recently it seemed like StarCraft Ghost was going to be one of these titles. But as of now, it looks like things are going to start moving along for Blizzard's tactical-action game.
Even still it's hard to say enough good things about Halo, it's one of these games that really manages to transcend the genre. It's not only a good first person shooter, it's a good game, period.
I think the one in the second sentense is the typical meaning of transcend, meaning to innovate and exceed the current standard. But what about the one in the first sentense?

There is an expression about damning with faint praise. It means you say something that appears to be nice, but it's so weak in its complimentary nature that it draws attention to what COULD have been said that would have been truly complimentary, and shows your actual bad opinion of the person/thing.
