Exercise on future 1
Dear teachers,
Would you please tell me if my choices are right ?
Choice of verb + future tense:
1) A - I’ve got to phone a Paris number. Do you know the code ?
B- No, I’LL LOOK IT UP in the directory for you.
2) A- What are you doing over the Easter holidays?
B- Absolutely nothing. We a) ARE GOING TO rest / b) ARE GOING TO HAVE A rest / c) ARE HAVING A rest.
3) A- Did you hear the weather forecast ?
B- Yes, It a) WILL BE / b) IS GOING TO BE cold at first, then c) IT WILL BE a little warmer this afternoon, and this evening d) THERE WILL BE some light showers.
4) A- Why did you buy a house in such a terrible condition ?
B- It was cheap. We ARE GOING TO modernize it from top to bottom, and we ARE GOING TO TURN IT into a restaurant. What do you think?
5) A- If you are elected, what WILL your party DO about unemployment ?
B- We have carefully considered this issue. When we are elected, as we most certainly a) WILL be / we b) ARE GOING TO create half a million new jobs.
