A reliable test for determining which to use is to replace everyday/every day with daily or ordinary. If it makes sense, the correct choice is everyday.

Thank you, Aspara Gus and canadian45.

Aspara Gus:
The word "everyday" is an adjective, isn't it? I still don't understand why "everyday" is the correct form.

In hindsight, forget what I said about the daily replacement test. It isn't foolproof. Ordinary is, though. Another method is to replace every day / everyday with each day. If the sentence doesn't make sense, everyday is right.

Thank you for the response, AG. "Everyday" is an adjective, so it does not work as the subject of a sentence, does it?
