We are witnessing an escalation in civil conflicts and wars across the globe.Is the use of "escalation" correct in this sentence written by me? And which preposition should follow?

The word is trendy and imprecise however you use it, but that doesn't stop people from using it. It implies a stepwise increase from a current level, and I doubt that's what you wanted. What's wrong with "increase"?

It depends on what you mean. "We are witnessing an escalation in civil conflicts and wars across the globe" means that there are more civil conflicts and wars, but it is a poor way of putting that. "We are witnessing an escalation of civil conflicts and wars across the globe" means that the ones we already have are growing.

By the way, we don't go across a globe. We go around it.
