In my opinion, no. " That's a little too direct for a metaphor, as I see it. A metaphor in this instance would me something more like: I was waltzing in my head.

In my opinion, no. The reason is that a metaphor has a kind of subtleness and indirectness to it, while the example sort of hits you over the head with its directness; essentially, it's saying: "We are using our minds to dance." That's a little too direct for a metaphor, as I see it. A metaphor in this instance would me something more like:
