The word 'dose' is used for medicine, not for food.

The word you are trying to use is 'draft', not 'drought'. But is is uncommon.

I had hardly eaten a mouthful of my meal /food/dinner when the police suddenly broke in the door and came in to arrest me on a charge of burglary.

I had hardly drunk a mouthful of water when she knocked my bottle out of my hand.
