Do you prefer learning by yourself to learning with a teacher?

Many people hold the opinion that it is better to learn by ourselves than with a teacher, while others adhere to an opposite view. I think it is better to learn with a teacher because a teacher can teach us not only the knowledge but also methodology and how to think and also he can help us to stay motivated.

To begin with I must say learning with a teacher is not only to acquire the knowledge. There is no doubt that we can acquire the knowledge without a teacher, however learning how to think and to make conclusion and to develop our ideas required the experience of teachers. We need to know that not all skills can be taught from books and videos. My experience to learn French is a good example of what I mean. I started to study French by myself and I bought many books from amazon. I was excited at the beginning however after a while I faced some obstacles to pronounce some words or to understand some grammatical rules. Even though everything was clear and well explained in the book and videos but I could not improve my pronunciation. Therefore I hired a French teacher and this had changed completely my way of studying. This teacher has added to my learning all his years of experience. He had some outstanding tips that made my way of learning easy he taught how to understand the grammar rules better and to understand their usage. As a result I learned more and faster with a teacher than by myself.
Moreover, learning with a teacher can help us to stay focus on our goal of learning. It is nearly certain that human motivation goes up and down sides . Sometimes we are motivated to learn and we spend the whole day learning and there are these days where we are not self motivated to learn. We stop learning for couple days sometimes months. I can recall my experience of learning french. I was very motivated to learn this language because I wanted to visit Paris and be able to speak french in france. However this motivation depleted everyday in front all the hassles I was facing in learning french. Ii stopped watching any video if I could not understand some words. Things had changed to better when I hire a teacher. He helped to make realistic goals and shared with me his tips how to stay motivated during the process of learning a language. I am very positive that I would not have improved that in learning french if he did not help me to stay f

In conclusion, I strongly believe that learning with a teacher is better than by myself. This is because it teaches us more than knowledge and he helps to stay motivated
