Dizzy and Giddy

HiAre these words synonymous?I felt dizzy after the walk in the heat.I felt giddy after the walk in the heat.She says she is feeling dizzy/giddy all the time these days.Thanks,Tom

Not to me, though maybe I use them wrong.

To me 'dizzy' is the feeling of losing one's balance, feeling as if one is about to fall.

In contrast, 'giddy' is something like laughing inappropriately at trivially funny things, as if one were drunk, unable to stop oneself.

Wait for other opinions, some of which are sure to be different from mine.
