In 1991 the payment by cheques reached a peak and since then it has been decreasing gradually. Payment by credit and charge cards was rising steadily during the period. In 2001 it overtook the populiarity of debit cards. The payment by debit cards was the most unpopular comparing with usage of cheques, debit and charge cards from 1991 to 1992. Although since 1991 the usage of debit cards has been increasing significantly. In 1993 the populiarity of debit cards overtook the usage of credit cards and in 1997 it also exceeded the usage of cheques. Payment by cheques trend was fallen and payment by credit, charge and debit cards was risen all the time and in 2007 there was a sharp difference between usage of debit cards and cheques, credit and charge cards.
