Delivered by October 8 - including Oct 8 or before Oct 8?
I have a paper that says:
_"The paper has to be uploaded by October 8."_
English is not my mother tongue: Does this mean that I have to deliver it on October 7., or October 8?

Opinions vary on these things! There's a good chance the author will be looking for a date on the upload printout of October 8 or earlier. So you have up till midnight on October 8 to complete your upload.
