Hi everyone,
I have a translation assignment. I translated it from Vietnamese to English version. Could somebody help me to correct my mistakes, please?
"In Vietnam, festivals are inherently folk events held on the hamlet and village size, with distinct shades based on customs, habits, conditions and living conditions of small communities. Every festival that is born and exists, has its reasons.
The festival may be just an occasion to release the pressing of the community after a hard-working crop and merely to entertain
The festival may also be a pretext for people to gather and for people moved far away from hometown to come back to meet their ancestors in their homeland. The festival sometimes like the anniversary of someone's, saint and individuals death who have left an imprint in the history of the community.
And, sometimes it is just a sad or happy anniversary, even a historic event of the village.
Therefore, the festival is intrinsically only really meaningful in its space, for only the people of the community related to the event. And thus, festival rites are sacred to a village with a few thousand people and it would be of no value, even offensive to outsiders."
