Crank out

Hi,

What word can I use instead of ‘crank out’ to describe a situation where a person who’s working out does a lot of repetitions of an exercise.

“He cranked out fifty sit-ups.”

Thank you.

He did fifty sit-ups rather automatically, without really thinking about it. Many years ago, people used to start their car by cranking it. Look here.
