Thank you.
The average standard of people's health is likely to be lower in the future than it is now.
To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?
Some believe in the idea that the overall health of the general public will suffer in the future due to various reasons. I completely believe with this primarily because of the increasing consumption of junk food among people and the decreasing physical activity of individuals.
First, the regular consumption of fast food and junk food could cause serious health diseases over time according to several peer-reviewed researches. These unhealthy options are readily accessible to many people nowadays due to the rising incomes of the population and the great marketing strategies of multi-national companies offering these products. The overall trend is that fast food would further increase in popularity based on the studies made by different health advocates. The USA is a prime example where popular food chains like McDonalds are thought to be causing obesity among the people.
Second, there are many things which distract people from doing regular form of exercises and which are detrimental to one's health. For instance, work-from-home jobs could promote a sedentary lifestyle since individuals do not need to mobilize themselves to go to their offices. This is also true for online-shopping where someone could just sit in front of his computer to buy a product instead of walking in a grocery to purchase it. These options are getting popular and would further lead to people not physically active resulting in further deterioration of their health and well-being.
In conclusion, unless efforts are made to alter the public's mindset with regard to their food habits and daily physical activities, the health of the general public will only worsen in the years to come.
