THE READING OF HEART OF DARKNESS

As it had followed the topic-Heart Of Darkness, the book had shown the darkness of a human being. Although people are not violent when they first appear to be, they will be changing while the time is passing and the living condition is changing. From the book, Marlow, the narrator, and also the protagonist, had shown his journey of Africa which had gave him a great influence of the thought of hypocritical imperialism of Europe.

Although the people who lived under the control of imperialism were not violent at all, a aberrance added to them mercilessly from the control of imperialism. Since the European were trying to have a mastery of Africa, they neglected how important of the humanization and civilization were. As a result of their neglecte, they failed to control Africa, and instead, they began to lose their control of other colonies.

The failing of European is not just that they overlooked humanization and civilization, but also were selfish themself. For example, a guy whose name is Kurtz, he was the one of many who were sent to Africa for "civilize" the natives, as he apprently trying to "civilize" the natives, he had made a lot of benefits by selling the ivories and forgot to do what he supposed to do. The company, which Kurtz was belonged to, was trying to make benefits in Africa as well. There was not a person who really trying to work for the purpose of Europe, it is ironically and derisively for those goings-on between Kurtz and the company and Europe.
