Here is my try:

(a) I ~~quickly~~ took (a) quick action to save the girl.

(b) When they arrived there, they saw that the bookstore was crowded with people.

The bookstore sold a variety of interesting books, magazines and more / the others.

(c) At the moment, there was a large crowd lining up ( I don't know this phrasal verb) at the reference book store to buy books.

(d) A famous bookstore in Shanti’s town was holding a sale to sell off the old books. On that day, many people, mostly students, came because there were many reference books sold in there.

(e) They tried to squeeze through/in/out into ( I don't whether into would be ok) the crowd but they failed to do so (I would say couldn't in short.). Because of the heat, Susan fainted in the crowd. I don't like sentences starting with because either use and before it or say due to, but I prefer and.

(c) At the moment, there was a large crowd lining up at the reference bookstore to buy books. "At that moment, there was..." OR "At the moment, there is a ...."
