Can I say,

(a) She weras a necklace on her neck.

(b) The turkey gives us me.

(c) The pupils dismissed at 2 o'clock yesterday.

(d) The cat feeds on mice.

(e) She dozed off when watching television proggrame.

Why do we use " the pupils were dismissed" ? Not "the pupils dismissed" ?

But it sounds stupid, because people normally wear necklaces on their necks.

If you say 'She is wearing a necklace', people will know you mean 'on her neck'.



People don't normally wear necklaces on their feet or on their heads.

Exactly what I was going to point out.... Well, someday people may wear necklace at other places of their bodies besdies their necks, just like rings which were only worn on fingers
