Correct spelling

What is the correct spelling for the word which is phonetically spelled "vwah lah"? In usage it would be synonomous with eureka, discover, find, etc. I had thought that it was spelled "viola", but I find no dictionary references to validate my thoughts. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks so much. Oddly enough, my initial spelling was correct. Once again, the lesson of "go with your first instinct" is borne out.

No, Anon, your first guess was V I O L A, which is a musical insturment like a violin, but a bit larger. The Frence expression is V O I L A. It's actually a fairly commmon mistake, but now you know the dfference!
