Correct or not no. 39 - occassion + for?
Dear All,
A quick question in my series Correct or not. Is the following sentence native-like and 100% correct? I'm not sure if for is the right preposition.
What was the occassion for (wearing) high-heels?
And one more extra question that just popped in my head. Let's say that you saw your co-worker at work wearing high-heels. You come back home and send her message to inquire why she had high-heels (she usually doesn't) Should we say:
What is the occassion today for (wearing) high-heels?
What was the occassion today for (wearing) high-heels

Your sentences are OK, except you need to correct your spelling. occasion In the second two, 'was' is more likely than 'is'. Clive
