Question

A: I thought she would become a doctor soon and when she would become a doctor, her parents would be proud of her.

b: I love this country so much that I would pick it over all other countries in the world.

Are the sentence correct? Please make corrections if needed. Thank you.

As shown. The second part is the past of this corresponding present tense form below:

When she becomes a doctor, her parents will be proud of her.

(We don't say "When she will become a doctor" in the present form, so we don't say "When she would become a doctor" in the past form either.)

'pick' is too informal in my opinion for such a serious claim. It's not wrong, but I'd say that 'choose' is better.
