Compound Pronoun Plurality

"This picture shows me and my friend's faces when we finished painting them."

"My friend's and my faces were cut out of the picture."

Could someone correct these sentences and explain?

Since English has hardly any inflections, word order is of paramount importance. This picture shows me is correct but in no way does it indicate that your face is shown. As for the second sentece, there is no noun immediately after my friend's.

My suggestions:

This picture shows my face and that of my friend after we finished painting them.
