Comparing things+correct tense
Hello,
I have some problems with comparing things, especially when it comes to using mixed tenses. I will give you an example to show you what I mean.
Ok, let me start by asking this: is it correct to say : "you look better than you've ever done before". I think it would be way more natural to say it the following way: "(...) than you ever did" but could you clarify?
Same thing but a different example:
"Last week I went out more than I have done in the past 2 years."
First of all, is it okay to omit the bit " I have done" and simply say "more than in the past 2 years"?
Secondly, which form is preffered, simple past or perfect as it refers to a certain period of time in the past without specifying exactly when or how many times. Thank you in advance!

oh i just remembered, the reason I'm posting this is because I want to know if it's ok to use word 'do' in the correct form to avoid using the verb I used in the first(clause) part of the sentence again?
