Comparative vs. Superlative

Are these correct? I say 'yes'.

Simple Rule:
Comparative (only 2 involved) ends in "er".
Superlative (more than 2) ends in "est".


It was the worse of the two items.

It was the worst of the three (four, five, six, etc.) items.


Of the two gymnasts, she was the better.

She was the better of the two gymnasts.

Of the ten gymnasts, she was the best.

She was the best of the ten gymnasts.


She was the better of the two athletes.

She was the best of the three (four, five, six, etc.) athletes.

He was the angrier of the two men.

He was the angriest of the three (or more) men.


She was the simpler of the two women.

She was the simplest of the two women.


Of red and green, I think red is the better choice.

Of red, green and blue, I think red is the best choice.

Of red, green, blue, pink, purple and orange, I think red is the best choice.
