Comma or semicolon after "If required"?
We are having a debate at work about punctuation in a particular sentence and need some help. Someone willing to help out?
Here are the sentences we are discussing and cannot decide if the use of a comma or semicolon is correct at the beginning.
"If required, Customer Care will dispatch a technician."
or
"If required; Customer Care will dispatch a technician."
Is either of the above correct? Are we both wrong?
Thanks!!
