Comma and provided
#1 He abandoned her but refused likewise to abandon her child.
Just a sentence I made up to understand how to use 'likewise.' I am using likewise to mean: in a similar way. Meaning, he abandoned her but refused to abandon the child in a similar manner. Is likewise placed correctly in the sentence?
#2 It was a good place, rich in labor power while being poor in mineral wealth.
Again, just a line I made to know whether 'while being' can be used like this to connect these clauses?
#3 Do we need a comma before provided? A favored B, provided the latter had something to offer. Provided is a conjunction here.
