Comma

Hi,
1 Yesterday, I watched television.
2. Yesterday I watch television.
Is a comma necessary? Thanks, Fulvio

I will assume that (2) was supposed to say "watched" rather than "watch". The comma is not necessary. Personally I would not normally include it.

The comma is not necessary. Personally I would not normally include it. Generally speaking, the longer the introductory adverbial phrase, the more desirable a comma becomes. For example:

When I got home after work yesterday, I watched television.
