Come to school or come to the school
Where is he?
He is in school.
We don't say 'he is in the school' if he went there to study as a regular student.
We would say 'he is in the school' if he went there to meet a friend or to attend a some special meeting.
The following is the question.
I wrote an email to a friend who didn't come to school last Friday.
(1) I wrote ' You didn't come to school last Friday, do you? '
I guess this person was ill and couldn't come to school.
Is the (1) correct?
I skipped the article. You might think otherwise.
