Change into indirect speech....
Change these to indirect speeches:
Mr. Carter: Are you tired of driving?
Mr. Arnold: No, I'm doing fine.
Mr. Carter: What did I do with my briefcase?
Mr Arnold: isn't it on the back seat?
Mr. Carter: (Looking all around) No, I don't see it.
Mr. Arnold: You may have left it in the hotel.
Mr. Carter: All my important papers are in it. I don't want to lose it.
Mr. Arnold:Should we turn around and go back?
Mr. Carter: We can't turn back now. We have been driving for nearly two hours.
I haev changed them into indirect. So please cheack whether these are correct or not.
1)Mr. Carter asked Mr. Arnold whether he was tired of driving.
2) Mr Arnold replied that he was doing fine. (( Would we include his reply "no"? and if we want to include it then what woul dbe the correc sentence? ))
3) Mr Carter asked what he did with his briefcase.
4) Mr. Arnold enquired if it was not on the back seat.
5) Mr. Carter looked all around and replied that he did not see it. (( can we use didn't , I mean abbrevation, in reported speech?))
6)Mr Arnold suggested Mr. Carter that he might have left it in the hotel.
7)Mr. carter told that all his importants papers were in it and he did not want to lose it.
8)Mr. Arnold asked if they should turn around and go back
