but I only got a fleeting glance from far away

I saw Leehom Wang in the airport, but I only got a fleeting glance from far away.

Hi,

For a start, is "fleeting" and "from" in the above redundant?

Second, is it the same to write "I only got a glimpse in the distance?"

Hi, I saw Leehom **** in the airport, but I only got a fleeting glance from far away. For a start, is "fleeting" and "from" in the above redundant? Perhaps, but it doesn't sound bad.
