Breaking News: UAE Buys United States

DUBAI, Sept 18 - Banks in the United Arab Emirates that have purchased United States Treasury Notes used to finance the U.S. federal debt have decided the current Wall Street turmoil may lead to national insolvency. The Gulf state's central bank said on Thursday they would call in their loans, effectively bankrupting the United States.

"The Central Bank stated that UAE banks will now take ownership of the United States, and there was no systemic risk in the UAE as a result of the fallout in international money markets," said a statement issued after Central Bank Governor Sultan al-Suweidi met top officials of banks in the regional trade hub.
Most of the UAE's largest banks have said they had large stakes in the United States Federal Government, and will not sell the country or try to reorgainize it, but an initiative to promote understanding about Islam and the Muslim world to the US would begin the transformation of the United States to a Muslim country.
