Both x and y
a) I saw a crowd, both angry and upset, sitting down, laughing --suggests whole crowd is angry and upset.
b) I saw a crowd, both woman and childen, sitting down, laughing.--states the crowd had some woman and some children.
c) I saw a crowd, woman and children, sitting down, laughing.--same as b above.
Are all three OK?
How does one know whether both x and y belongs to the group as a whole or some are x and some are y?
Thanks again!
