I have no idea for `bearing' in this context. heraldic bearing - heraldry consisting of a design or image depicted on a shield

depicted means (represented generally) but I don't know how it is used here. "shown"

distinction means (diffrent) but I can't understand in this context. In heraldry, distinction means those changes made to a heraldic design that show the relationship of the new design to the previous one.
