Question

I know that: "She studies at university." is fine.What about: "She studies at the university." ?Am I missing in the second sentence "of"? - At the u/University of .... ?Is the first one more formal?

What about: "She studies at the university." ? Also fine, but sounds like you are talking about a specidfic one, eg perhaps the local one.

Am I missing in the second sentence "of"? - At the u/University of .. ? It just sounds like you didn't say it's name because you expect the listener to know.

Is the first one more formal? No. It's just a general statement, but the most common way to say this is simply 'She's in university'. You don't really need the word 'studies' because everybody knows that's what you do in university.
