Assist sb in sth VS assist sb to verb
My dictionary denotes the use of the verb 'assist' as ~ (sb) (in/with sth) or ~(sb)(in doing sth)
I found an example(#1) under that denotation. As I saw the use of 'assist' underlined, I thought #1 can be the same as #2. Does my guess correct?
1. A course to assist adults to return to the labour market.
2. A course to assist adults in returning to the labour market.
