Are these sentences for the strong expression of self-consciousness?

Are the following sentences used to the strong expression of self-consciousness?
Could any native speaker give your suggestions or commends?

(1) I interested myself in this book. = (abrdiged version) I am interested in this book.
(The preposition of "in" arranged to tie in with the need to the strong expression of self-consciousness.
So, the "in" must show "attending on / for a purpose of this book" )
(2) Though it is not my problem, I still concern myself with it. = ......I am still concerned with it.
(In the same way, the preposition "with" must show "to be / go with" it)
(3) I oppose myself to nuclear power generation. = I am opposed to nuclear power generation.
(In the same way, the preposition "to" must show reaching as far as a target.)
