Are ‘in my life’ and ‘felt sadness’ correctly used in the sentence?

People have come by and have left in my life, and just like any other person, I felt sadness for experiencing so.

Hi Yes, both of those are good forms. There's a Beatles song that describes people that the singer has known: 'In my life, I've loved them all'. Any emotion can be described as being felt: 'I feel anger; I feel sadness; I feel joy'.
