A. You are born to be a star.
B. You were born to be a star.
1. Which of the above is correct? Before, I was confident that "were born" was the correct answer since it is definitely a past event. However, I watched a TV show lately and the judge said "You are born to be a star.". Now, I am confused which one is correct or if both are acceptable.
2. If both are OK, what is the difference in meaning?
