Are 2 sentences correct ?

Question

1. My first impression on the room is a pretty guitar.  2. Beef costs twice much more than it did 3 year ago.  A native English-speaking person is expected to answer my questions.  Thks in advance.

1. I don't think the sentence makes much sense

How about: "the first thing I noticed in the room was a pretty guitar"? (insofar as a guitar can be pretty...)

2. I'd say: "... twice as much as it did 3 years ago".
