Anyone vs. everyone
a. He will date anyone.
b. He will date everyone.
c. He dates anyone.
d. He dates everyone.
What are the differences between the meanings of these sentences?
I think (a) is very general. We don't know if he has dated anyone or not. We don't know if he will ever date anyone. We just know that he will be willing to date anyone.
(b) does not make sense.
(c) is close in meaning to (a), however it suggests that he has dated and probably does date now. It won't be used in the case of someone who has never dated.
(d) does not make sense.
Is that correct?
