Are these lines natural? Any suggestion is welcome.

How are you? I hope you and Tony are enjoying life in Germany and that there is NOTHING distressing whatsoever in your way.
They say 'it's better late than never'. I promised that I would send you more books by your favorite author and did try to fulfill that, but a series of events delayed the effort. I will write to you about them in detail later. My sincere apologies!
