Allege synonymous
I know the word Allege means to present a claim with out proof but can it be used merely as speak in a sentience such as this ‘’ allege your name’’
Is this word limited only to courts and lawyers?

Another situation I can recall seeing it is when I was reading my medical records, and it seems doctors write things like "Patient alleges no history of drug use" -- it made me laugh, because it sounded like the doctor thought I had done drugs but I said otherwise. Someone later told me that it's just how some doctors write it. You can use is casually too, perhaps with a bit of sarcasm.
