Adverbial phrase after an preposition???
Please look at the following question.
"Neorela Electronics, whose entry you submitted on June 20, was selected from among 1,500 contestants"
[Q1] What is the subject of "was selected"? I think it is "entry". Am I wrong?
[Q2] What part of speech is "among 1,500 contestants"?
Looks an adverbial phrase. I've learned a noun or a noun phrase has to come after a preposition.
If it is an adverbial phrase, it breaks this rule. Is it a noun phrase? or can an adverbial phrase follow after an preposition?

Perhaps I've got it. "You" in the sentence is a worker working at Neorela Electronics. The 1,500 contestants means 1,500 rival firms. Am I right?
