Advance vs. advancement (in the meaning of a pre-payment)

In financial context, when do I use "advance" and when "advancement"? Is there a difference? Is one word more Legalese than the other?
Which of the two is correct in the following sentence and why: "X shall pay to Y a monthly [advance/advancement] of USD 10."?
