What is "adjunct faculty" of a school department? What is a university programme? Can we say "field"? Is a programme connected to an academic degree? Thank you very much.

Usually a university provides various sorts of programs: majoring programs for specific fields (Science, Engineering, Law, Liberal Arts, etc) as well as inter-faculty programs. Most programs will give you will a bachelor degree if you study hard to get a certain amount of credits in a certain period (usually four years).
