Hi,
Please consider these sentences:
A.what color do you prefer to wear?
B.I like purples and black to wear.
Why is adj taking "s plural"? Is it used instead of nouns? I mean as a substitute. Is it originally Purple dresses.?
Another problem: which one is correct?
1.we are out of medium size.
2.The medium size is out of stock.
3.The computer is on/ in logged off mode.
4.The computer is logged off.

The only reason I can imagine why you would say "purples" instead of "purple" is that you are talking about various shades of purple. I would say: I like to wear purple as well as black. In the other examples, first, I would go with #2.
