Hi to all respected teachers and members; I have a few confusions about the usage of "over" and "above" and I have written some examples below:
Ex-1: The cat jumped "over" the wall. (why over is used here....what does "over" imply here ?, if we used something like "above" or "onto" or "upon", what would be the meaning of the sentence?)
Ex-2: My friend saw a kite flying "above" our my this morning.( can we use "over" in this sentence and if not then please give some explanation)
Also, I read somewhere that we use "over" usually with "dynamic verbs" and "above" with "static verbs" (is it really true....if so, why do we do so..?)
I am a Non-native english speaker who is still learning......kindly, do reply to this post.
Top answer
