About "money"
Hello. I've checked about the usage of "...use money to..." and "...spend money to..."
Both of them appear on the corpus quite much.
But concerning the following sentences, do native speakers usually say
1. They spent a lot of money to build the museum. or
2. They used a lot of money to build the museum.
Which one do you prefer ? If both can work, is there any difference?
P.S. In fact, that is a question item on the midterm English test paper. The given correct answer is 2.
Thanks a million. I really appreciate your great answers.
