A sentence

Hello,

Is it a correct sentence?

It would have been much better if my question disappeared into oblivion, than to get a response like yours.

I would have rather preffered that my question disappered than to get such a response.

Are these sentences correct? " I don't like "prefer X than Y". It is usually "prefer X over Y" or "prefer X to Y".
